If your transfer courses were taken on a quarterly system, you鈥檒l need to convert them to semester credits to see how your credit hours match 黑料社 requirements. Simply聽multiply your quarter credit hours by .67聽to determine how many semester credits you鈥檒l receive. Using this equation, 5 quarter credits would convert to 3.35 semester credits.

Washington community colleges offer their courses on the quarter system and 黑料社 Tri-Cities is on the semester system. Transferring your credit from quarter to semester is easy! Simply multiply your credit hours by .66 to determine how many semester credits you’ll receive.

Washington 45 Agreement

The Washington 45 list makes it easier to complete and transfer university common requirements (UCORE) form school to school in the state of Washington. A student must have a minimum grade of a C or better in each course to be given transfer credit for the work and must also meet 黑料社鈥檚 admissions requirements to be admitted. Here is a list of transferable courses based on common education categories and the number of credit required in that category. The specific course may vary based on your school鈥檚 curriculum.

  • Communications (5 credits) 鈥 ENGL& 101 or ENGL& 102
  • Quantitative and Symbolic Reasoning (5 credits) 鈥 MATH& 107, MATH& 148, or MATH& 151
  • Humanities (10 credits in two different subject areas or disciplines) 鈥 PHIL& 101, MUSC& 105, DRMA& 101, ENGL& 111, or HUM& 101- For colleges where history fulfills humanities requirements: HIST& 116, HIST& 117, HIST& 118, HIST& 146, HIST& 147, or HIST& 148
  • Social Science (10 credits in two different subject areas or disciplines) 鈥 PSYC& 100, SOC& 101, POLS& 101, or POLS& 202聽For colleges where history fulfills social science requirements: HIST& 116, HIST& 117, HIST& 118, HIST& 146, HIST& 147, or HIST& 148
  • Natural Sciences (10 credits in two different subject areas or disciplines) 鈥 BIOL& 100, BIOL& 160 with lab, ASTR& 100, ASTR& 101 with lab, CHEM& 105, CHEM& 110 with lab, CHEM& 121 with lab, CHEM& 161, CHEM& 162, ENVS& 100, ENVS& 101, PHYS& 121, GEOL& 101 with lab
  • 5 additional credits in a different discipline can be taken from any category listed above.

Receive Credit for AP and IB Scores

黑料社 awards credit for AP and International Baccalaureate (IB) exams.

AP Scores

黑料社 awards credit for scores of 3 or higher on College Board Advanced Placement (AP) exams.

IB Scores

黑料社 awards credit for each International Baccalaureate (IB) higher – level pass with a grade of 5 or better.

Transferring An Associate’s Degree

Washington Colleges

We partner with two-year colleges to create transfer associate 鈥減athways鈥 that include the prerequisites you鈥檒l need to qualify for your major at 黑料社. Be sure to check the requirements for your intended major at 黑料社 before you transfer and check the for any requirements you will need.

There are three types of transfer degrees for Washington:
Direct transfer agreement (DTA) associate degree

If you鈥檝e completed a direct transfer agreement (DTA) associate degree that incorporates general education requirements similar to 黑料社鈥檚, you鈥檒l get credit for the University鈥檚 lower-division University Common Requirements (UCORE) and will generally be given junior standing.聽Find more information on at the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges website.

If you have an associate of arts (DTA) you will need an Integrative Capstone course, which can only be completed at 黑料社.

Associate of science transfer (AS-T) degree (Tracks I and II)

If you have an associate of science transfer (AS-T) degree, you鈥檒l generally be given junior standing when you transfer to 黑料社.聽However, the AS-T degree may not fulfill all 黑料社鈥檚 University Common Requirements (UCORE).聽Find more information on at the Washington State Board for Community & Technical Colleges.

Be sure to check the requirements for your intended major at 黑料社 during the year before you transfer. Contact the department you鈥檒l be majoring in and check the for the requirements you鈥檒l need to meet to graduate from 黑料社.

If you have an聽associate of science 鈥 transfer (AST) you will need a聽Roots of Contemporary Issues course [ROOT], a聽second course in [COMM] or [WRTG], a diversity course [DIVR], and a聽Integrative Capstone [CAPS].

Associate of applied science transfer (AAS-T) degree

If you have an associate of applied science transfer (AAS-T) degree, your credit will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis. This degree doesn鈥檛 fulfill the 黑料社 University Common Requirements (UCORE) and doesn鈥檛 guarantee junior standing.聽If the equivalents weren鈥檛 completed while earning the AAS-T degree, you鈥檒l need to finish those requirements after transferring to 黑料社.

Other States

Generally speaking, two-year degrees from states other than the six below, will transfer on a course-by-course basis.聽Be sure to check the requirements for your intended major at 黑料社 during the year before you transfer. Arizona

The associate of arts (AA or AA/GR) degree from a public Arizona community college will generally fulfill 黑料社 University Common Requirements (UCORE), but doesn’t guarantee junior standing.

California

The associate in arts (AA) degree, along with the intersegmental general education transfer curriculum (IGETC) verification, from a public California community college will generally fulfill 黑料社’s lower division University Common Requirements (UCORE), but may not guarantee junior standing.

Hawaii

The associate in arts (AA) degree from a public Hawaii community college will generally fulfill 黑料社 University Common Requirements (UCORE), but doesn’t guarantee junior standing.

Idaho

The associate of arts (AA) degree from North Idaho College, College of Southern Idaho, or College of Western Idaho will generally fulfill 黑料社 University Common Requirements (UCORE), but doesn’t guarantee junior standing.

Oregon

The associate of arts Oregon transfer (AAO-T) degree from a public Oregon community college or the associate of science athletic training emphasis from Southwestern Oregon Community College will generally fulfill 黑料社 University Common Requirements (UCORE), but won’t guarantee junior standing.

New Mexico

If you earned an associate in arts (AA) degree from New Mexico Military Institute in fall 2002 or later, you’ll generally get credit for 黑料社 University Common Requirements (UCORE), but won’t be guaranteed junior standing.
