Jessica 鈥淗eidi鈥 Stoker obtained a fine art degree from Colorado State University\, along with a minor in art history and a certificate in women鈥檚 studies. As a multimedia artist\, she is concerned with the evolution of a piece of art and believes that art has a life of its own. A single piece of her work is intended to change over time through her application of differing media\, including but not limited to hand collected and created pigments and patination. Stoker鈥檚 paintings focus on the female figure displayed in self-defining expressions of beauty\, as a way of imposing a wider discussion about beauty itself.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] URL:/event/works-by-jhs-art-exhibit/ LOCATION:黑料社 Tri-Cities Art Center\, 2710 University Dr\, Richland\, WA\, 99354\, United States CATEGORIES:Art Center,Calendar, community END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20220412T120000 DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20220412T133000 DTSTAMP:20260625T131801 CREATED:20220407T190206Z LAST-MODIFIED:20220407T190332Z UID:108916-1649764800-1649770200@tricities.wsu.edu SUMMARY:Master's proposal defense: Alexis Sullivan DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css_animation=鈥濃 row_type=鈥漴ow鈥 use_row_as_full_screen_section=鈥漬o鈥 type=鈥漟ull_width鈥 angled_section=鈥漬o鈥 text_align=鈥漧eft鈥 background_image_as_pattern=鈥漺ithout_pattern鈥漖[vc_column][vc_column_text]Open to 黑料社 Tri-Cities faculty\, staff\, and students. \nFinal Examination Announcement for Alexis Sullivan\, who will be defending her thesis proposal for the degree of Master of Science in Biology. The native prairie that remains today is increasingly threatened by land-use change and invasive species. The invasive winter annual grass聽Ventenata dubia聽has become a dominant threat to native prairie remnants\, as it decreases native plant species diversity and native plant species richness. Although we have seen the effects of聽V. dubia聽on native plant communities since its introduction in the 1950鈥檚\, the impact聽V. dubia聽may have on soil microbial communities such as arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi is not known. My graduate work has focused on understanding the impact that聽V. dubia聽invasion has\, if any\, on AM fungi in the Palouse Prairie. \n聽 \nZoom Link:聽https://wsu.zoom.us/j/94290055300?pwd=RVN4cXZIRnd3V0xwZmhuQnZUWGpIdz09聽 \nMeeting ID: 942 9005 5300 \nPasscode: 879413[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] URL:/event/masters-proposal-defense-alexis-sullivan/ LOCATION:ZOOM\, WA\, United States CATEGORIES:academic,Communication, community,Event,Professional Development,Student Success, university END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20220412T150500 DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20220412T160000 DTSTAMP:20260625T131801 CREATED:20220125T231034Z LAST-MODIFIED:20220125T231034Z UID:106868-1649775900-1649779200@tricities.wsu.edu SUMMARY:RFO Forum with Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css_animation=鈥濃 row_type=鈥漴ow鈥 use_row_as_full_screen_section=鈥漬o鈥 type=鈥漟ull_width鈥 angled_section=鈥漬o鈥 text_align=鈥漧eft鈥 background_image_as_pattern=鈥漺ithout_pattern鈥漖[vc_column][vc_column_text]This is a chance for faculty to talk with the Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs\, Kate McAteer.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Zoom link[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row] URL:/event/rfo-forum-with-vice-chancellor-for-academic-and-student-affairs/ LOCATION:Zoom\, WA\, United States CATEGORIES:Calendar,RFO page END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20220412T180000 DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20220412T180000 DTSTAMP:20260625T131801 CREATED:20220408T203006Z LAST-MODIFIED:20220408T203006Z UID:108933-1649786400-1649786400@tricities.wsu.edu SUMMARY:Game Night for All DESCRIPTION:[vc_row css_animation=鈥濃 row_type=鈥漴ow鈥 use_row_as_full_screen_section=鈥漬o鈥 type=鈥漟ull_width鈥 angled_section=鈥漬o鈥 text_align=鈥漧eft鈥 background_image_as_pattern=鈥漺ithout_pattern鈥漖[vc_column][vc_column_text]This virtual game night聽will give attendees the opportunity to learn about Black History through a variety of short games.
