Day’s Pay B-17 Bomber artifact turnover to 黑料社 Tri-Cities and open house for Hanford Collection

The Day鈥檚 Pay was a B-17 Bomber purchased during a fundraising drive at Hanford where workers were asked to 鈥済ive a day鈥檚 pay and send a bomber on its way鈥 to the European theater in World War II. The plane was purchased with these donations and flew in more than 60 missions in Europe.

The son of Day鈥檚 Pay bomber pilot Arlys Wineinger, Wyatt Wineinger, will be part of a turnover of artifacts from the Day’s Pay to the 黑料社 Tri-Cities Hanford History Project Hanford Collection during a ceremony at 1 p.m. at the Hanford History Project office – 2892 Pauling Ave. in Richland. The public is invited to attend. Afterward, individuals may attend an open house of the Hanford Collection.
